EDITOR'S NOTES

A little over a year ago, I wrote about dairy producer Hank Wagner who says learning should never end. In addition, he suggests everyone take the time to read a bit every day.

Our beautiful cover illustration was commissioned from our own in-house designer, Corey Lewis. He lends his talents to this magazine on a regular basis, and this cover is a shining example of his vision and ability as an artist.

In early October, I was sitting in a meeting at World Dairy Expo with an organization our publication works closely with as partners in this great industry.

After several months of consideration, my husband and I decided to build a tobacco shed on our property. For four years, we rented sheds in the area and felt it would be more efficient and higher-yielding if we could keep the crop at our farm.

The other night, I attended a meeting at City Hall to discuss a plan to install a new LED sign at one of the main entrances to our town. 

One of the many things my mother has taught me in life was how to feed calves. I don’t recall how old I was at the time, but I do remember that when I offered, she was happy to show me how.
