If someone were to create a formal job description for a farmer, one of the main criteria for the applicant would have to be the ability to adapt. Since farmers contend with Mother Nature and living organisms – cows, calves, plants, etc. – they must always adapt to a new situation.

As my schedule allows, I occasionally spend an afternoon in my daughter’s classroom. Our school system encourages parental involvement, for the time being my children like having Mom around, and I enjoy seeing where my child spends a good portion of her time.

As I sit down to pen this editorial, we have just entered the New Year. It is a time filled with joy, excitement and resolutions. Some of the most popular resolutions involve a focus on fitness and to eat better in hopes of being a little lighter when we enter the next holiday season.
