Plans are underway for the 29th World Forage Analysis Superbowl, held in conjunction with World Dairy Expo.

This year’s contest will award over $22,000 in cash prizes to winning entries across seven forage categories. A special thanks goes to Mycogen Seeds, the contest’s Platinum Sponsor.

The Grand Champion Forage will receive a check for $2,500 from Nutrisave Forage Management System and the Grand Champion First Time Entrant will receive a cash award of $1,500 from Kuhn North America.

This year, three farms south of Red Deer, Alberta, opened their doors and stories to two busloads of visitors – Van Den Broek Dairy, Ten Brummelhuis Dairy Ltd. and Yff Dairy Ltd.

ASABE AE50 award goes to GEA Farm Technologies for SYNC2 piston pump
The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) recently announced that GEA Farm Technologies Canada Inc./Division GEA Houle has won a AE50 award.

GEA Farm Technologies developed the SYNC2 Modular Piston Pump, deemed one of the year’s most innovative designs in engineering products or systems for the food and agriculture industries.

The SYNC2 will be featured in a special AE50 issue of ASABE’s magazine, Resource: Engineering & Technology for a Sustainable World.

Schaefer Ventilation Equipment has acquired from Americ Corporation, an industrial fan manufacturer, the Americ brand, product designs, customer lists and other assets. 

Schaefer Ventilation designs, manufactures and markets fans and other ventilation equipment to agricultural, industrial, commercial and rental customers in the U.S. and abroad.

It is merging the Americ fan business, which includes a leading line of confined space ventilation fans and accessories, with its own ventilation business.

Canada’s University of Saskatchewan and New York’s Alfred State College have each opted for one DeLaval VMS (Voluntary Milking System) and numerous herd management solutions.

The move further signifies university officials’ confidence in DeLaval – especially as technology plays a greater role in the development of the dairy industry.
