Lifelong dairy researcher Lowell D. Lindsay has been chosen for induction into the Canadian Agriculture Hall of Fame. The companies Semex and EastGen (EG) nominated Lindsay for the honour.

Three other Canadians — John Oliver, the late John Wise and Donald Ziraldo — will be inducted into the Hall of Fame with Lindsay on Nov. 3 at the Royal Agriculture Winter Fair in Toronto, Ontario.

{socialbuttons}“Lowell achieved a great deal in his career” over the past 53 years, says Semex CEO Paul Larmer. “It is impossible to measure the economic impact that Lowell has had. [W]hen one looks at the genetic progress made in Canada over that time period, it is immense.”

EG General Manager Brian O’Connor added: “Lowell was influential in turning artificial insemination, sire selection and young sire testing programs into the most impactful breed improvement tools to date within the dairy industry.”  PD
